Your sportswear absorbs sweat and gets dirty during training, and it also stretches and rubs more than regular clothes. All of this will make you not want to wear them after washing them incorrectly. When you buy sportswear, you also choose the colors you like and you always want those colors to not fade and last for a long time. So all you need is the knowledge to give them the right care.
In order for you to enjoy our sportswear for a long time, it is important for us to give you a few tips to maintain the quality of the fabric.

What to avoid when washing sportswear

Washing sportswear is easier than people imagine. It is best to wash them by hand, but they can also be washed properly in a washing machine. It is recommended to separate white or light colors from dark colors and avoid washing your sportswear with items like jeans, towels, and other heavy fabrics.
You should also avoid putting items with Velcro or zippers in your tracksuits, as this can get caught in the delicate fabric of your tracksuit and cause pulling or tearing. It is advisable to wash with other tracksuit items and other light clothing, such as cotton T-shirts, etc. If there are laces on your tights, tie them before putting them in the washing machine, otherwise they can come loose and re-threading them is an unnecessary nightmare.

Do not tumble dry.

Never dry your sportswear in the dryer, make sure they are hung in a clear area to dry naturally. Once items are dry, avoid leaving them hanging for longer than necessary, especially in hot or sunny areas. Heat can be particularly damaging to sportswear as it weakens fabrics and reduces the effectiveness of stretch components, which can alter the shape and fit of your sportswear as well as its functionality.

Do not use fabric softener.

Sportswear does not require fabric softener! Fabric softener affects the stretch of the material and overuse of fabric softener will cause the fabric to lose its elasticity. Fabric softener can also limit the fabric's sweat-wicking qualities and reduce the 'second skin' feel, meaning your clothes will be more likely to slide up or down instead of moving with you.

Turn your sportswear inside out before putting it in the washing machine.

Sportswear tends to wear out in the washing machine and it is best to prevent this by turning it inside out before putting it in the washing machine. Washing causes friction and direct contact that can eventually lead to wear and fading of fabrics. By turning your sportswear inside out, you can extend the life of its fabric, meaning your tracksuits will look fresh and shiny for longer. Before putting your sportswear in the washing machine, it is recommended to hand wash mud or grass stains to maximize the chance of getting rid of the stains.

Use a liquid laundry detergent that does not contain fabric softener.

After you have put your sportswear, tights and tops in the machine, you can use your regular washing gel, and it is better to use a liquid gel. Of course, the gel you use does not contain fabric softener. Fabric softener is not required when washing sportswear, as mentioned above.

Choose a low temperature and gentle spin.

Choose a low temperature (30 degrees) on a gentle or normal cycle and choose a gentle spin (400 rpm is recommended if your washing machine has one). After washing, remove the sportswear as soon as possible and hang them to dry in the shade. Leaving them in the machine after washing for a long time will cause them to develop bad odors.
